VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

On behalf of the Ardhi Institute Morogoro (ARIMO) and Tanzania Geothermal
Development Company Limited (TGDC), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites
qualified Tanzanians to fill seven (7) vacant posts mentioned below.

1.0 THE ARDHI INSTITUTE MOROGORO.
Ardhi Institute Morogoro is a Government Institution established by the Parliament on
24th October, 1974 as per Ardhi Institute Act, Cap.122 R.E. 2002. It is under the parent
Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development. The Institute is fully
registered and accredited institution by the National Council for Technical and Vocational
Education and Training (NACTVET) in training Land development courses since 2009
with Certificate No: REG/EOS/008.

1.1 ASSISTANT TUTOR II (GEOMATICS) – 3 POSTS
1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. To teach up to NTA Level 5 and may assist teaching in higher NTA Levels.
ii. To prepare learning resources for practical exercises;
iii. To assist in conducting practical exercises for students in the department under
close supervision up to NTA level 5;
iv. To supervise studio/practical and field works.
v. To assist senior members of staff in research, seminars and consultancy.
vi. To undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Officials of
the Institute.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Geomatics, Geo-informatics or Cartography from reputable
institute with GPA not less than 3.5

1.1.3 REMUNERATION – PTSS 7-8

1.2 ASSISTANT TUTOR II (URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING) – 3 POST
1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. To teach up to NTA Level 5 and may assist teaching in higher NTA Levels.
ii. To prepare learning resources for practical exercises;
iii. To assist in conducting practical exercises for students in the department under
close supervision up to NTA level 5;
iv. To supervise studio/practical and field works.
v. To assist senior members of staff in research, seminars and consultancy.
vi. To undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Officials of the Institute.

1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Cartography, Urban and Regional Planning, Land Use and
Environment Planning from reputable institute with GPA not less than 3.5

2.0 TANZANIA GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LTD (TGDC)
Tanzania Geothermal Development Company Limited (TGDC) is a subsidiary company
of Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO); 100% owned by the
government of Tanzania, incorporated in December 2013 for the purpose of
spearheading development of geothermal resources in Tanzania. It commenced its
business in the July 2014 with the mandate amongst others to explore, drill and harness
geothermal resources for power generation and direct applications. Establishment of
TGDC: Tanzania has for a number of periods been faced with inadequate power
generation due to a number of reasons. The Government has taken various remedial
actions to avert load shedding, some of which are not only costly but also have adverse
effect on the environment. To avoid these recurrences, the Government decided to
diversify generation sources to include Geothermal and other renewable energies such
as solar and wind.

2.1 ENGINEER GRADE II – 1 POST
2.1.1 WORKSTATION TGDC Mbeya Office
2.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To plan and implement the operational workflow of well testing, stimulation, and
logging programs.
ii. To acquisition and process of reservoir(s) data.
iii. To test and locate new wells, monitor their output, predict the long-term performance
of the reservoirs and wells.
iv. To use different computer models to predict sustainability of reservoir responses to
productions.
v. To prepare operational reports & projects documentation.
vi. To provide supervision role to suppliers and service companies pertaining to
reservoir engineering matters
vii. To implement health, safety & environmental work procedures in relation to reservoir
engineering works
viii.To cooperate with geoscience experts in developing and updating geothermal
conceptual models.

2.1.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering either, Petroleum or Geothermal or Reservoir or Mining
or Civil or Mechanical. Must be registered by Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as the
graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer. Possession of qualifications in Post
Graduate degree in Engineering Petroleum or Geothermal or Reservoir, Computer skills
(MS Office). CAD software (e.g. Solid works, AutoCAD), MATLAB, will be an added
advantage.

x. An applicant should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts;
xi. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level
education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania
(NECTA).
xii. Professional certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions
should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and
National Council for Technical Education (NACTE);
